Ideas on a new Domain Name for the site

I can see I may have to move ISP's soon as my ISP has been taken over by Tiscali and I've started to notice a few problems.

So I'm thinking of buying a domain name and then forwarding traffic to which ever ISP I'm with.

Trouble is the following domains have already been taken:

www.hammerhouseofhorror.co.uk
www.hammer-house-of-horror.co.uk
www.hammerhorror.co.uk

So I've come up with the following but can't decide which would be best.

Vote for the one you think would be most suitable:

P.S. They've got to be .co.uk as these are the cheapest !

Don't get the cheapest, get a whip-'round going to fund the domain you want. I'll put a couple of crispies in the proverbial PayPal pot.

Thanks Jo - Thats very kind of you but really not necessary. Some of these domain registration sites are very cheap.

decision made

The site can now be accessed by:

www.hammerhouseofhorrortvseries.co.uk

If I access the forum through this new link: http://www.hammerhouseofhorrortvseries. ... /index.php
it doesn't keep me signed in, regardless of whether I check the 'automatic sign-in' box.

But if I go back through the old route:
http://www.nealb.f2s.com/phpBB2/index.php
it's okay.

Any idea why?

thanks for the message.

its something to do with cookies and the way I'm forwarding to the web site. Haven't go to the bottom of it yet, but hopefully will soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

* update *

yep, its to do with the fact I'm currently forwarding the new domain name to the old domain name and the forum cookie that gets installed in your browser to automatically log you in doesn't like that.

So I've put the old 'nealb.f2s.com' links back on the main site menu to route you to the board.

Please let me know if you still experience problems

Thanks
Neal

ah that will explain my confusion too probably! A few times recently I was trying to access the site through a google search and was being re-directed to the tesco homepage - I was confused then, but then again I know shopping there is often a horror story!

Best all

I think Tesco was Neal's original website (correct me if I'm wrong), besides, it takes a while to register a new website under a search engine, so it probably won't show up just yet.

Yes thats right. The site was originally hosted on Tesco's web servers. Its still here but redirects you to the new site.

As Tinker says, search engines won't start listing the new domain for a while.

I only know this because I'm planning to set up a website (nothing to do with tv, but it is nostalgic) and have done a bit of homework on META tags.

I'm hoping to get it started by May

Thanks, I'll bear it in mind. I don't know much about HTML so I thought I might get an idiot proof web building pack to start with.

Of course I'd welcome any tips you might have. Like I said, I know nothing about web building.
