William Morton, son of scientist Terence and mother Laurie, suddenly dies after eating tablets found in his fathers home laboratory. The couple adopt a strange boy called James from a childrens home but when he comes to live with them odd things start to occur.

Hampden church was used for the church yard scenes
The location of the Mortons's house was Norcott Court Farm in Dudswell, Nr. Berkhampsted (Thanks to Mike Humphrey for spotting this one)
Andy Pagin, a visitor to the site, has confirmed that James' bedroom and the dining room are Hampden House. Andy says the painting behind James' bed is still at Hampden House.
